Kaguya Shinomiya Appears in Oshi no Ko Special Chapter (Spoiler Warning)

Kaguya Shinomiya from Kaguya-sama: Love Is War makes a surprise cameo in Oshi no Ko Chapter 90.1 special, linking Aka Akasaka’s shared universe.

#DidYouKnow? Shinomiya Kaguya appears in the special chapter of Oshi no Ko manga under the name “Shirogane Kaguya” as Hoshino Ruby’s photographer.

In a conversation between idol Hoshino Ruby and her brother Hoshino Aquamarine, Ruby recalls meeting a photographer during a photoshoot who helped calm her nervousness. She describes the photographer as a kind person who shared many interesting stories, including experiences from her school life.

When Aquamarine asks for the photographer’s name, the manga reveals a photograph showing Kaguya Shinomiya from Kaguya-sama: Love Is War. In this special chapter of Oshi no Ko, her name is written as “Shirogane Kaguya,” appearing on a photography book, implying her married name.

This reveal has sparked strong fan discussion, as it suggests that Kaguya may have married Miyuki Shirogane, taking his surname in the future timeline interpretation of the story. The chapter shows Kaguya working as a professional photographer who assists Ruby during her shoot, emphasizing her calm and supportive role.

It is worth noting that Oshi no Ko and Kaguya-sama: Love Is War are written by the same author, Aka Akasaka, and exist within a loosely connected narrative universe with different timelines rather than a direct continuous storyline.

The special chapter (Chapter 90.1) was released in the Young Jump Heroine 2 issue of Weekly Young Jump on August 10, 2022.
