The main cast includes:
  • Yoshino Aoyama as Hitori “Bocchi” Gotoh
  • Sayumi Suzushiro as Nijika Ijichi
  • Saku Mizuno as Ryo Yamada
  • Ikumi Hasegawa as Kita Ikuyo

The video below features Kessoku Band’s debut performance on THE FIRST TAKE:

THE FIRST TAKE is a popular YouTube channel known for its minimalist concept: artists perform a song in a single take, capturing raw, unedited emotion. With only one rule—deliver it in one take—over a hundred musicians and singers have taken on the challenge.

Bocchi the Rock! is a manga by Aki Hamaji that was adapted into an anime produced by CloverWorks. The series aired from October to December 2022, spanning 12 episodes, and was directed by Keiichirō Saitō. It later received a two-part compilation film, with the first part premiering on June 7 in Japan.

In addition to the TV anime, a two-part compilation film project titled Bocchi the Rock! Re: and Bocchi the Rock! Re:Re: was released in Japan in 2024, recapping the events of the anime’s first season with updated scenes and enhanced audio.

Streaming on Crunchyroll, it describes the story as:
Hitori Gotoh, better known as “Bocchi-chan,” is a painfully shy and socially anxious girl who dreams of becoming a rock musician. Despite her talent on the guitar, she struggles to connect with others—until she meets Nijika Ijichi, who invites her to join the Kessoku Band. As Bocchi navigates friendships, performances, and her own anxieties, she slowly begins to grow both as a musician and as a person.
