Gibson Set to Release Real-Life Replica of Ikuyo Kita’s Guitar (Les Paul Jr.) from Bocchi the Rock!

Global guitar manufacturer Gibson has officially announced a new collaboration with the hit anime Bocchi the Rock! to produce a limited-edition real-life replicas of Ikuyo Kita’s signature guitar (Les Paul Jr.) to fans through both Gibson and its subsidiary Epiphone.

The collaboration celebrates the series’ strong influence on music culture, especially its impact on guitar sales and beginner musicians inspired by the anime’s characters.

The newly revealed models are based on the Les Paul Jr. guitars used by Ikuyo Kita, the energetic guitarist and vocalist of Kessoku Band. The collaboration translates her on-screen instrument into fully functional, musician-grade guitars, rather than simple collectibles.

The collaboration project includes two versions of the Kita signature model, produced under Gibson and its subsidiary Epiphone, both based on the iconic Les Paul Jr. design used by Kita in the series.

Limited Release Details

  • The collaboration features two officially licensed guitars (Gibson and Epiphone versions)
  • Production is strictly limited, with reports indicating a lottery-based purchase system in Japan due to high demand
  • The set is expected to include premium accessories such as a case, strap, and stand depending on edition
  • Availability is expected to be highly restricted, making it a collector-focused release
Rather than a standard retail launch, the guitars are being distributed via a lottery system in Japan, with applications running in April 2026 and deliveries expected to begin in June.

Lottery entry forms are available exclusively through the official Aniplex Online Store.

To mark the launch of the instruments, Gibson’s official website has also published a special interview feature titled “GIBSON SPECIAL TALK SESSION: Ikumi Hasegawa x Ritsuro Mitsui.”

It features Ikumi Hasegawa, the voice actress of Ikuyo Kita in Bocchi the Rock!, and Ritsuro Mitsui, a music arranger and contributor to the anime’s soundtrack and band music production.

This release follows earlier collaborations similar collaboration back in October 2025, when Yamaha introduced a real-life replica of Hitori Gotoh’s custom guitar.

The series was adapted into an anime produced by CloverWorks, which aired from October to December 2022. A second season of Bocchi the Rock! has been officially announced, though as of now, its broadcast date has not yet been confirmed.

In addition to the TV anime, a two-part compilation film project titled Bocchi the Rock! Re: and Bocchi the Rock! Re:Re: was released in Japan in 2024, recapping the events of the anime’s first season with updated scenes and enhanced audio.

Streaming on Crunchyroll, it describes the story as:
Hitori Gotoh, better known as “Bocchi-chan,” is a painfully shy and socially anxious girl who dreams of becoming a rock musician. Despite her talent on the guitar, she struggles to connect with others—until she meets Nijika Ijichi, who invites her to join the Kessoku Band. As Bocchi navigates friendships, performances, and her own anxieties, she slowly begins to grow both as a musician and as a person.
