The Quintessential Quintuplets franchise has announced two new anime projects, marking its return with fresh content following the conclusion of the original story. The announcement was made on May 2, 2026, during the “The Quintessential Quintuplets SPECIAL EVENT 2026 in TOYOTA ARENA TOKYO,” which featured appearances from the anime’s main voice cast.

The first project is a television anime adaptation of The Quintessential Quintuplets: Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter (Shunkashuto), a sequel light novel written by Hajime Asano under the supervision of original creator Negi Haruba. The story serves as a canonical continuation, following Futaro Uesugi and the Nakano quintuplets across a full year, covering events from their final school days through their lives after graduation. A manga adaptation of the novel has also been confirmed.

Alongside the sequel, a new original video animation (OVA) was announced. The OVA will adapt previously unanimated chapters from the original manga, focusing on content that was not included in earlier anime adaptations, including the television series and the 2022 film.

At the time of writing, no release dates, staff details, or broadcast formats have been announced for the newly revealed projects. However, the unveiling of a teaser visual and promotional video during the event confirms that both productions are currently in development.

Originally created by Negi Haruba, The Quintessential Quintuplets manga was serialized from 2017 to 2020 and compiled into 14 volumes. The anime adaptation premiered in 2019, followed by a second season in 2021 and a theatrical film in 2022 that concluded the main storyline. Additional anime specials released in later years further expanded on post-ending events.

Uesugi Fuutarou, a high school second-year from a poor family, receives a highly appealing offer to work part-time as a tutor... but his students turn out to be girls from his own class! What's more, they're quintuplets... and all five are beautiful, but happen to be problem students who have borderline grades and hate studying! Looks like his first assignment will be to win all the sisters' trust?! Every day is a wild party in this rom-com centering around the quintuplet sisters of the Nakano household!
