“Kimi No Nawa (君の名は)”, also known in English as “Your Name” is a popular film directed by Makoto Shinkai being one of the highest-grossing anime films and also one of the all-time favorites for any anime fans out there.
#DidYouKnow? At the end of “Your Name” (Kimi No Nawa), Mitsuha & Taki finally meet each other on the 8th of April, 2022. The date was not clearly shown in the anime movie, but in the officially released manga, a date was shown of the day that they both unexpectedly met again.

The meeting of the two took place on the stairs of Suga Shrine. If you didn’t know yet, most locations shown in the anime are actually based on real life and one of these is the Red Stairs at Yotsuya – Suga Shrine. Here is where the famous reunion scene at the ending happened.
However before their meeting happened, we were shown a glimpse of their everyday lives in Tokyo, despite losing memories, they felt like they have always been looking for someone or something. The anime usually shows the scenes through Taki’s POV, but in the manga, it’s a combination of both. However, in some scenes, Mistsuha’s POV is shown more, something that we have not seen in the anime movie.
Here’s the scene as shown in volume 3, chapter 9, page 38 of the manga. It shows Mistusha in present-day Tokyo on her way to the train station. This scene is taken from Mitsuha’s POV in comparison to the movie where it shows us mostly Taki’s POV on his way to find a job. If you look closely at Mitsuha’s phone screen, it briefly shows the date and time: 8:08 AM, 4/8 (Friday). This happened moments before they caught each other’s eye while on the train.

Here is a detailed timeline of the events in the story shown in order. As confirmed in this table, there was no date on when Taki and Mitsuha reunited in the anime movie however, the date is shown in the manga.
