Rascal Does Not Dream is a Japanese light novel series written by Hajime Kamoshida and illustrated by Keiji Mizoguchi. It began publication in April 2014 under ASCII Media Works’ Dengeki Bunko imprint, with English releases licensed by Yen Press.

The series was later adapted into an anime produced by CloverWorks, with its first television season, Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai, airing in October 2018. This was followed by sequel films, including Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl and later installments continuing the story.

The light novel series has officially concluded with a total of 15 volumes, with the final volume, Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dear Friend, released on October 10, 2024, marking the end of the story after over a decade of publication.

Crunchyroll describes the story:

Puberty syndrome—abnormal experiences rumored on the internet to be caused by sensitivity and instability during adolescence. This year, Sakuta Azusagawa, a high school student near Enoshima, encounters several girls experiencing this phenomenon. One day, he meets a bunny girl in a library—Mai Sakurajima, a famous actress on hiatus whom no one else can see. As Sakuta searches for answers behind her invisibility and other strange cases, he becomes involved in a series of mysterious and emotional encounters tied to adolescence.
